In my Edm 310 class it has prepared me to do varies of things, not only with computers but it has also helped me provide information in a professional manner. Creating a slide show through PowerPoint was my favorite activity throughout this short semester. We created a slide that was just introducing ourselves. We got to show our like, dislikes, family, friends, hobbies and goals. I attracted attention with pictures, utilized techniques that stimulated discussion. I understand now how this class helps me prepare to become a future teacher one day. When thinking about computers and how they make some of the most prolong job easy it makes me so glad that we have them. This class has been one of four of my classes. I enjoyed this one the most because my teacher Mr. Tashbin has taught the class with fun, energy, and perfection. He also makes sure that everyone is together on everything and he post the grades as he goes throughout the course and I really appreciated that.

Podcast

The first podcast I listened to was lesson from Life: The last lecture of rand Pausch. I think the podcast informed people on all of the inspirational facts about Randy. The group was very well with give the break down of the point of what he was encouraging people to bring out the best with the good and the bad of any situation.
I feel this particular group could have done a better job on letting the podcast flow more like a conversation than just reading off of a piece of paper like one girl sound at the beignging of the podcast. I loved the fact that through the podcast they encouraged people to view the last lecture on YouTube and gave the information need to view the site.
This was the first time I have ever heard of podcasting and it was very enjoyable to her the view points on Randy Pausch from other students, who have already completed the coarse. It is really amazing to her such wonderful things from people he inspired and motivated and how the class podcast want to share it with people.

The second podcast I listen to was Useful Web Sites for Elementary Teachers. Throughout this podcast they gave a lot of information on different sites itself, how to use the site and what is on each site. I think they gave really good detailed site information. The access for learning information with foreign languages and how to teach with lesson plans. I didn't see anything that needed to be improved with the podcast, it flowed like a conversation. The group all new their information and supplied it very well. It is so amazing how you can search and find more information than need as one of the group members stated in the podcast. The members also supplied the sites on their class blog which is very influential to see because sometimes sites are hard to track with the slightest mistakes. The teacher brought out how the podcast was maintained like a conversation more so than just words read verbatim off a sheet of paper. I don't know about all of the podcast but this was a very good one, which has made me excited about podcasting itself which I hope we get a chance to do also.

texting

To keep down the texting in class I feel like the school should get the device that can provoke the service so that the phone wouldn't work unless your outside of the building. Today there are many things that can keep the children attention until I feel that we should come up with a learning technique that can include the things that does have their attention if that mean use the phone as a tool then it could help the learning.

optimist

I really enjoyed reading this blog. I feel exactly the same way, I also feel that when a child is of age they will be realistic with their dreams, not saying that the impossible doesn't happen but if they are in lined with the dream that's pursued then that's how they will know the difference between them knowing if its possible. If they don't get the encouragement from us in the beginning then they will never get the process to I can pursue my dreams.

Brave, Motivate, and Unique

If I were brave I would make every learning lesson fun with no exceptions to the rules. In the 5 brave things blog does it seem to be a little to much responsibility for young children are is it that we don't give the children a chance to show their ability to adapt to the things we may expect of them.

What motivates me to be a teacher is what I think about all the time. I remember being in school and each year I would have a teacher that was just like most not really concern just making just enough to get to the next year but one day I got the best teacher I could ever have she did everything and beyond and she inspired me because I looked up to her and I'll never forget her name Mrs. Ashley Daigle. She didn't stop at only what we were supposed to learn and I realized it because the following year I was so ahead I knew that she was that special and caring teacher that every student should have.

There could be million of things that could make a school unique but the difference is the children and how it relates to them so this is something that really difficult to speak on until I'm in that position.

"3R's and 6C's"

I found the blog Dr. Strange wrote was very interesting I agree that we should have all information at all times through the sources of the newer technology. I feel that the shift that my have changed in my aspect is the way children think. I feel to grab the attention of the young mind we have to put ourselves in their places in the new millennium of this century. Dr. strange has really taken this blog to another level of thinking.

"No burpback education"

I feel that it is really important to understand whats the most efficient way to get across to students. This blog is what most teacher should think about when the students are not understanding the information. I feel it is easy to learn things when it is applied in everyday use in life or when you can make it apply to things that can interest the students. In this method it is not just something the students would learn just for a test but for long time memory as each subject is related to something pertaining to them. Dr. Strange method is also a way that will keep it in the long term memory, so I totally agree.

International blog

OGA international school officially founded in 1996, Ortiz Global Academy (OGA) was started by a group of people who recognized the need for a school to fulfill the growing demands of a more effective English education in Japan. In this blog I found it very exciting to see that this particular blog shows how she educates the kindergarten children, and how they had fun learning and working together. The class spent four fun filled days leaning about their Five Sense. They made slime and unusual sensory bottles. They matched different scents, and tasting party. They played in a sensory pool and finger painted with jell-o and cream.

G-Drive

I think it is a good idea, it can help with the laptop hard drive damage. It can also be harmful far as security purpose but that's with any computer device. I think the drive can become something very popular for computers and I hope its not too expensive. The G-drive will prevent losing information that's on a computer so I'm all for it. It will be great if it keeps all the material on the computer except viruses that can transfer to the new computer, if it works that way I'm all for the G-drive.

"Changing the way we think"

In some aspects I can understand exactly what this article is trying to get across. I have realized you don't have to really even think at all when having the ability to use a computer. Everything is there for you, just typing in a search will provide you with what you need and more. With the thought of this is it beneficial to have everything already worked out for you without giving it a little thought? In my oppinion we should use the computer for ideas and come up with our own ideas also to enhance what is already there for you.

Access

Access is a site providing classroom course's and teacher via technology. Access stands for (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide). It provides high students options to take advance placement courses online. Gov. Bob Riley and State Superintendent of Education, Dr. Joseph B. Morton initiated ACCESS to plan new and innovative ways that distance learning options can provide access to high quality instruction and coursework not currently available to high school students in Alabama. It provides a technical infrastructure to deliver pedagogically sound courses via the Internet and a catalogue of approved Internet-based courses using the latest interactive instructional models. It blends online/Internet-based coursework with Alabama certified teachers as E-teachers from delivery school sites to receive school sites that otherwise would not have an Alabama certified teacher to instruct the course. Access provides to advanced diploma courses, provides to additional course offerings, provides to advanced placement or dual enrollment courses, provide to remediation and supplemental resources, Leverage existing resources and distance learning offerings, and provide teachers with additional multimedia and technology tools to enhance instruction. I feel the program access was a brilliant idea to advance learning in a broad manner.

Alex

ALEX helps to find professional development opportunities, teaching and learning tools, the latest news, best practice and more. It also provides educators resources to enhance professional growth and communication. On Alex you can pull up lesson plans by school, title, or author you can also create lesson plans. This site is accessible to teacher, administrators and students. It is a site that you have to either be created by an Alex account or login to your existing account in order to submit your recommendations. I think this site Alex is essential in so many aspects such as: for professionalism to new teachers, new ideas brought into education, and information that can enhance your ability in the school system.
